New courses and programmes:
- Conceptualized, developed and launched 4 new Masters’ programmes in Yogashastra, Arthashastra, Epics and Puranas and Classical Sanskrit Literature as per NEP 2020 from 2022-2023
- Conceptualised, developed and launched Diploma in Bhagavadgita from 2022-2023
- Framed the syllabi of M.A. Sanskrit (7 track electives) as per NEP 2020
Seminars and workshops organized:
- National conference on ‘Yoga -Theory and Practice’ on 21st and 22nd February, 2023 as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration. Prof. Madhusudan Penna (Vice chancellor, Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit Vishwa Vidyalaya, Ramtek) inaugurated this conference. Renowned scholar Dr. Ganesh Rao presented keynote address and Dr. Mickey Mehta was a special guest.
- One Day National Seminar on Dimensions of “Neo-Humanism of Shri Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar” on 18th March 2023 was organized by Department of Sanskrit in collaboration with Renaissance Universal and Shodhavari.
- Department of Sanskrit in collaboration with Renaissance Universal and the Department of Music organized National Seminar on “Literary & Musical Aspects in Prabhat Samgita and Indian Devotional Music” on 11th September, 2023
- National Seminar on Ramayana was held as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration on 1st March, 2024. Chief guest and Keynote speaker was Prof. Vijay Pandya
- Symposium on Sanskrit Studies in Maharashtra: Past, Present & Future was organized as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration on 2nd March, 2024
- Research Methodology workshop from 29th November 2023 to 1st December 2023 for PhD students and M. A. Sanskrit Sem I NEP.
- Research Methodology workshop from 31st January 2023 to 3rd February for PhD students and M. A. Sanskrit Sem IV students
- Department of Sanskrit and Indica Today organized an Instructive and Interactive session on Research Methodology and Writing Skills with Prof. Dr. Gauri Mahulikar on 30th October 2022, which was extremely useful for research students
- Department of Sanskrit and Shodhavari organized one Day National Seminar on Dimensions of Neo-Humanism of Shri Prabhatranjan Sarkar on 18th March 2023
- International conference on Bhakti in Vaishnava Traditions was held on 21st to 23rd March, 2021 (online) in collaboration with Stockholm University, Sweden and Bhaktivedanta Research Centre, Mumbai. Prof. Gopal Gupta, Associate Professor, Joe Dunham Distinguished Professorship in Ethics, Aurora University, delivered Inaugural address and Srivatsa Goswami (Honorary President, Religions for Peace) gave Keynote speech.
- Department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai in collaboration with Renaissance Universal (RU) Mumbai has organized National Webinar on Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji’s multifarious contribution on 11th October 2021 at 2.00 p.m. Chief guest Prof.S. R. Bhat (Chairman, Indian Philosophical Congress) inaugurated the seminar.

- Lectures of notable scholars on the eve of Diamond Jubilee Celebration:
- 60 Lectures’ series on “Indian Knowledge Systems” (IKS) from 30th August 2023. This lecture series commenced on World Sanskrit Day 2023. Dr. Gauri Mahulikar (Academic Director, Chinmaya International Foundation, Kerala) gave an inaugural lecture.
- Lecture by Prof. Sampadanand Mishra on ‘The Magic and Logic of Sanskrit’ on10th February 2023 at1.30 pm as a part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration.

Events organized:
- Organized ‘Hirakamahotsavah’ i. e. Diamond Jubilee Year on completion of 60 years. The Diamond Jubilee year was inaugurated by notable scholar Dr. Gauri Mahulikar on 2nd March 2023. She also inaugurated the newly designed logo for the Department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai for the diamond jubilee celebration. Prof. Srinivas Varkhedi (Vice Chancellor, Central Sanskrit University) was the Chief Guest of the Concluding function. The drama ‘Pratima’ was presented by Dr. Prasad Bhide and the Bharatanatyam performance was presented by team of Dr. Sriram Iyyer. Notable alumni and senior professors were felicitated on this occasion.
- Sanskrit Day was organized on 30th September 2023. Chief Guest was Dr. Malhar Kulkarni (Professor, IIT Powai). On this occasion, students performed in cultural programmes and meritorious students were felicitated.
- Organized Sanskrit Day celebration on 1st October 2022. Prof. Ravindra Mulay (Former Director and Professor of the Center for Advanced Studies in Sanskrit, Savitribai Phule University, Pune) was the chief guest of the function. On this occasion, students performed in cultural programmes and meritorious students were felicitated.
- Organized ‘Sanskrit Day’ on October 23, 2021with the Chief Guest Dr. Hariram Mishra (Assistant Professor Sanskrit and Prachyavidya Adhyayana Sansthanam, Jawaharlal Nehru Vishvavidyalaya). He spoke on ‘‘Adhunikakale Kautiliya Arthashastrasya Auchityam’.
- Organized a lecture of Dr. Pankaj Bhamburkar (PhD Indology and Fine Arts) on the occasion of Kalidas Din on 1st July 2022 on the topic- ‘An Appreciation of paintings of the heroines in Malvikagnimitram and Abhidnyanshakuntalam’ as a celebration of Kalidas Day
