Dr. Shakuntala Gawde was invited to preside over a seminar on “Sanskrit-bhāṣāyāḥ Mahattvam”, organized by the Maharashtra Rajya Sanskrit Sahitya Akademi in collaboration with Arya Samaj, Borivali. On this occasion, she also felicitated students who received prizes in the shloka recitation competition.
In her address, she emphasized the continuing relevance of the Sanskrit language in the modern era, drawing upon insights from ancient texts. She highlighted the need for the younger generation to approach Sanskrit through an interdisciplinary lens, noting that the language preserves a vast corpus of knowledge across fields such as polity, biology, agriculture, botany, physics, chemistry, and astronomy.
Dr. Gawde underscored that Sanskrit is not merely a language of religion, but a rich and enduring source of diverse knowledge traditions.
